Madeley Town Council organises a number of  public events each year and supports local groups to put on others for the community.

Madeley Town Council is planning a family ‘Picnic on the Green’  (the grassed area by the war memorial off Russell Road) for Tuesday 9 August from 11am-1pm.  FREE Bouncy castles, garden games, ice creams and more. Just bring a blanket and your picnic and enjoy the fun.

Madeley Green Day

Madeley Green Day – usually held mid September, this event is a much loved family event that sees lots of free activities for the family. Along with displays, hands-on activities , attractions and information keeping to the theme of Nature, Wildlife, Environment and Wellbeing.

This year’s event will be held on Sunday 18 September from 1pm-4pm. Look out for more information nearer the time in Madeley Matters and on our Facebook page.

Madeley Remembrance Parade will take place on Sunday 13 November 2022.  We will share details of the day’s programme nearer the time.


Madeley Christmas Lights

This is held at the end of November, this event is the highlight of the year when the Christmas lights are switched on around the town. It includes a Christmas street market, activities, shows, Santa’s grotto, Santa’s sleigh parade and of course the finale of the grand switch-on.

The switch-on of the lights will take place in Madeley on Saturday 26 November 2022.  There will be separate Christmas events (including lights) for Sutton Hill and Woodside the following weekend.  Look out for further details nearer the time.
