Let’s talk…wellbeing

This week Madeley Town Council has launched its biggest ever survey to find out about the wellbeing of residents in Madeley, Sutton Hill and Woodside.

Here at the Town Council, our priority is to work for our residents, have good facilities, provide support and ensure services are in reach and available to as many as possible.
We care for the wellbeing of all our residents, so much so that we now have a dedicated Wellbeing Officer to provide support and services locally. Charlotte joined Madeley Town Council in January and is committed to providing support that really makes a difference.

Charlotte said: “Improving wellbeing for people is vital. Wellbeing put in simple terms means feeling happy, but there are so many factors that affect our ability to be happy, and it really is individual for each of us. We have gone straight from a global pandemic, which brought multiple challenges, into a cost of living crisis, so almost everyone will have experienced a dip in their wellbeing at some point over the last three years, I know I certainly did.

“What I want to do now is find out what is affecting your wellbeing, whether that be problems with health or accessing healthcare, struggling financially, wanting to be fitter, wanting to socialise with people similar to yourselves, or something else entirely. That knowledge will help me to plan a programme for the coming years working to achieve change for the residents of Madeley, Sutton Hill and Woodside.

“This survey will give me an insight into what wellbeing looks like to you and give me that starting point to tackle change by finding out how you’re feeling right now and what you want, and equally what is working well at the moment. Please take the time to complete it, your input really could bring about some positive changes both for you personally and your local community.”

Please check out the link for more information on the survey and to answer the questions. Get everyone in your household to fill it in and share it with your local friends and family. We want to hear from everyone, including the kids!

The closing date for responses is Friday 28th April.

Check out the latest edition of Madeley Matters or contact Madeley Town Council on 01952 567288 or charlotte@madeleytowncouncil.gov.uk for a printed copy of the survey if you know someone who cannot complete it online.

Please note that we cannot and will not identify you from the information that you provide and will not share any personal information that you give. After the closing date all surveys will collated. The general findings of the survey and how the information will be used will be shared with residents in the coming months.

Charlotte is keen to hear about all your wellbeing issues and ideas. Please don’t hesitate to share your ideas for projects or services at any time. Equally if you are already delivering or starting a scheme that has a wellbeing focus in the area, please let Charlotte know at the email address above.
